Learning the ropes at the Firework Training SchoolCity & GuildsAs members of the industry’s professional body the British Pyrotechnists Association, our courses are taught to their syllabus and trainees will be able to follow this up with an exam which is accredited by the nationally recognised City & Guilds qualification.

Our BPA firer training course and exam is held over 2 days and is aimed at anyone who would like to become a professional Firer. It introduces the latest best practice as used by members.

Throughout the weekend there will be a series of classroom lectures coupled with`hands-on’ sessions outside. Candidates must have completed 3 training displays (not necessarily with Fantastic Fireworks) in order to take the course and sit the exam. Exams are held on the 3rd weekend of the month, immediately after completion of the course. Please note that you must register for the course and exam at least 6 weeks in advance.

– Firework Families (shells, mines, rockets, cakes, candles etc)
– Fixing and Fusing Techniques
– Firing Orders
– Electric Firing
– Safe Use of Shells
– Fault Finding
– Tools of the Trade
– Health & Safety, inc Risk Assessments
– Storage & Transport

The cost of the course is £185 + VAT per person including a comprehensive training manual, the mandatory BPA exam (cost £54),  lunch each day & refreshments.
